A Brisbane cricket all-rounder has made a major career move, commencing an internship with real estate agency Knight Frank to gain practical experience in the industry.
Queensland cricket player, Jack Wildermuth, has joined Knight Frank Australia’s commercial property team as part of its student internship program.
The Brisbane Heat star, 31, is currently studying a bachelor of business (management) at Griffith University.
Wildermuth recently joined Knight Frank’s Brisbane office for the internship, with his first rotation being in capital markets.
Knight Frank said the program was designed to give individuals “practical and varied experience” within the industry.
This year, the agency has employed 12 students in their final year of property.
“[It] gives them practical and varied experience in the industry, offering individual mentor support, structured rotations, as well as a tailored learning program designed to prepare all students for a successful career in property,” Knight Frank said.
Knight Frank Australia’s managing director, Queensland, and head of capital markets Queensland, Justin Bond, said the company had been focused on providing different career opportunities.
“We are thrilled to have Jack on board at Knight Frank, giving him hands-on experience as a professional in the commercial property space while he undertakes his study at university and plays an instrumental role for the Brisbane Heat and Queensland Bulls,” he said.
“Knight Frank is passionate about supporting professional athletes and providing career opportunities to players outside their sporting careers with roles that are flexible and can work in around their training and match commitments.”
Bond said Wildermuth displayed many traits that were favourable in real estate professionals, such as resilience, discipline and a dedication to achieving success.
“We hope Jack will gain valuable experience and skills at Knight Frank that can provide a pathway to a career he could potentially move into post his studies and cricket career,” he concluded.
