After more than 20 years under the same leadership, a Northern Rivers agency has changed hands to drive growth and enhance client service.

Business owner Brent Osborne has been appointed principal of PRD Tweed Coast in NSW, marking a new chapter for the office after two decades under different leadership.

Osborne, who previously owned a real estate office in Bathurst, made the move north for a new challenge and lifestyle.

Bringing a vision for growth, both personal and professional, Osborne said that he was drawn to Kingscliff’s PRD Tweed Coast office as it offered a blend of success and future potential.

PRD Tweed Coast's previous owners, Joe Taylor and Jason Abbott, will continue to lead the nearby PRD Coolangatta office, with Taylor remaining active at the Tweed Coast office, refocusing on sales.

Taylor said that there were two non-negotiables when the pair were considering the sale of the PRD Tweed Coast office with Osborne: the team had to stay, and the office had to remain under the network franchise.

“Brent was looking for a well-established business with great people and a solid brand behind it, so it made good sense for all of us. After our first meeting, it was clear Brent was the right person,” he said.

Osborne said he knew he wanted to join PRD following his first meeting with Taylor, who spoke about the agency’s collaborative culture and the presence it had built in the region over the years.

“That first impression has held true; it’s been a fantastic experience so far, and I’m genuinely proud to be part of the PRD network,” Osborne said.

Taylor said that the transition of leadership was made easy by PRD’s ability to evolve while staying true to its values, and its recognition of the importance of colleagues supporting one another.

“Whether it’s advice, collaboration, or just a laugh, the culture here is real. The more we share, the stronger we become,” he said.

PRD’s managing director, Todd Hadley, said that the team would embrace Osborne with encouragement as they look forward to the next chapter of the agency.

PRD Tweed Coast was established in 2003 by Taylor, Abbott, and their former partner following the success of PRD Coolangatta.

Taylor said the trio had wanted to expand their presence on the Tweed Coast, noticing that despite strong interest from sellers, the lack of a local office was holding them back.

“We’ve had clients we started working with in 2003 who we’ve helped buy, sell, and manage properties for over two decades.”

“That kind of loyalty speaks volumes. We’re grateful for the community’s support and confident they’ll see the same level of care in Brent’s capable hands,” he concluded.
