The acquisition of a long-standing independent agency in Sydney’s eastern suburbs will position Laing+Simmons for growth heading into 2026.
Laing+Simmons East Group has continued its expansion in Sydney’s eastern suburbs with the acquisition of family-run office Mendes Real Estate in Bondi Junction.
Initially established in 1971, independent agency Roger R Mendes & Co in Darlinghurst was later renamed Mendes Real Estate in 1991, with a move to Bondi Junction.
According to Laing+Simmons, the agency’s director, Kevin Mendes, will continue to oversee the management of the agency’s clientele.
The independent agency said the business had a long-standing connection to Laing+Simmons East Group, making the move a natural evolution for the office.
Marking its second acquisition in two months, the network said it had reinforced its position at the forefront of the Eastern Suburbs market following a period of accelerated growth.
Laing+Simmons East Group director Fyonn Wolf said incorporating the Mendes Real Estate business into the agency significantly bolstered its property management offering.
“This acquisition allows us to enhance our reach while maintaining the personalised, high-quality management our clients rely on,” he said.
Imran Hamidi, also a director, said the move signified a solidifying of the company’s sales footprint across its key markets, opening the door to new opportunities.
“Mendes Real Estate has a rich history and loyal client base, and combining that legacy with our systems, expertise and market reach will accelerate our transaction volume and service capability,” he said.
Laing+Simmons East Group said it will remain focused on continuous, rapid growth, with further strategic expansions planned for 2026.
The news came after Laing+Simmons East Group acquired Prestige Property Agency in Darlinghurst in October this year, delivering on its strategic growth plans in the eastern suburbs.
