An independent real estate group has appointed its first CEO, bringing an ability to create high-performing teams built on commercial discipline and a strong people ethos.
Katrina Tarrant has joined Urban Real Estate as chief executive officer as the group aims to strengthen its leadership capabilities ahead of a new growth period.
The independent company said that with more than 30 years’ experience, Tarrant is one of the most respected leaders in the Australian property industry.
“She has led large multi-office networks, guided organisations through transformation and built high-performance cultures that balance commercial discipline with a strong people focus,” it said.
In her new role, Tarrant will work closely with founder Christopher Lowry on strategy, innovation and long-term expansion initiatives.
Lowry said Tarrant’s appointment would help the group continue to build strong foundations, focusing on efficient teams, systems and standards.
“Katrina brings the experience and leadership to help us scale what we’ve built with clarity and confidence,” he said.
Tarrant said she was drawn to the strength of the business model, including the team, technology, processes and leadership mindset.
“It’s a platform designed to perform. My focus is supporting our people and creating the conditions where they can thrive,” she said.
Urban said Tarrant’s appointment reflected the group’s aim to further strengthen its leadership capability and position the business for its next phase of sustainable growth.
Urban Real Estate said that the newly created CEO role reflected the scale and maturity the business had reached, with the network now operating across 15 offices.
“As Urban enters its next chapter, the group will focus on measured expansion and attracting ambitious, high calibre agents and property managers seeking a modern, well supported environment,” it said.
“With this executive leadership now in place, Urban is positioned for its most ambitious phase yet. Real estate, reimagined.”
