A Central Queensland agency that recently switched to the LJ Hooker brand has announced a strategic acquisition, delivering on its goals for growth.

LJ Hooker Gladstone has announced the strategic acquisition of LJ Hooker Boyne Tannum, following the office’s recent rebrand from another network.

Led by licensees and directors, Ron English and Lissa Holgate, the office rebranded from Professionals Gladstone in October last year and had been looking to expand in the coastal market.

The network said the bid for growth had started with the acquisition of LJ Hooker Boyne Tannum, which was sold by long-time licensee Vicki Brown after more than three decades in operation.

LJ Hooker said Brown remained with the business as a sales consultant and auctioneer, while the rest of her team had also stayed with the agency.

According to Holgate, the acquisition was an opportunity to bring together two community-focused teams under a trusted national brand.

“There hadn’t been an LJ Hooker agency in Gladstone for a few years, so the timing was perfect for us,” she said.

“It spoke volumes to us about the strength of the brand when Vicki would only sell if the business continued as part of the LJ Hooker network.”

Holgate also said the move reinforced a commitment to stability, growth and protecting value that the Boyne Tannum office had built up over 30 years.

LJ Hooker’s head of growth for Australia and New Zealand, Jarita Rayasam, said Brown will be an asset to the network.

“It is important to find someone who will carry forward the relationships, the trust and the reputation that has been built up over the years,” she said.

“LJ Hooker is a brand that means something to its franchise owners; it is not just a name above the door, but a legacy that comes with a genuine sense of belonging and collaboration.”

English said that the rebranding and expansion will allow the agency to build on its operations and better serve the local community.

“We are now strengthened by a name that has stood for trust and innovation for nearly a century, giving us the strength, scale and ability to reach a wider market,” he concluded.
