Agents have a chance to pocket $500 cash as part of a Homely lead-generation campaign.

The portal has launched a competition that gives Australians the chance to live rent-free for four weeks.

The winner will have their rent paid by Homely up to the value of $5,000.

Agents can also win $500 if they send the winner the entry link, and the winner mentions in their entry that they joined the competition because of their agent.

Consumers who take part in the competition are asked to nominate where they live, which suburbs interest them and how much rent they pay per week.

Homely chief executive Jason Spencer said although home ownership is the Australian dream, a weak economy and high investor activity are pushing a lot of people into renting.

“The Pay-My-Rent Sweepstakes is a great way to help those wanting a chance to get into the market by helping them put away a little extra for a deposit,” he said.

“One of the biggest challenges renters face is saving money while covering rental costs, so we think this will be a huge help.”
