Two more Australians have qualified for the Australasian Auctioneering Championships as the local talent prepares to battle the “incredibly strong Kiwis”.
Bronte Manuel from Toop&Toop and independent auctioneer AJ Colman finished first and second in the South Australian auctioneering championships.
Both have qualified for the Australasian Auctioneering Championships, which will be contested by Australian and New Zealand auctioneers in Melbourne in September. Mr Manuel has also won a trip to Hawaii.
It comes after Edward Riley and Damien Cooley won the NSW titles and Tom Esze and Frank Torre qualified from Western Australia.
This was the first time the Real Estate Institute of South Australia has held auctioneering championships.
Chief executive Greg Troughton said all the contestants performed well and demonstrated the depth of auctioneering talent that exists in South Australia.
“REISA is taking the lead with auctioneering in South Australia, and the aim of our competition is to get our local auctioneers as ready as possible before taking on the other states and the incredibly strong Kiwis in the Australasians,” Mr Troughton said.
The competition was overseen by a panel of five interstate judges under the guidance of chief judge Jonathon Moore and floor manager Damian Popowycz.
