A real estate platform has signed one the most recognised and sought-after auctioneers in the country.

Homely has announced the acquisition of two-time REINSW Award for Excellence in Auctioneering recipient and 12-time Block TV series auctioneer Damien Cooley, as it looks to grow its expanding platform online.

Jason Spencer, Homely’s co-founder, highlighted his excitement for the first brand ambassador for the platform.

“As such a well-recognised and respected identity in the real estate industry, Damien is the perfect choice for Homely’s first brand ambassador. We’re proud to align our brand with Damien’s renowned auctioneering skills and business acumen, and his highly regarded auction business, auction house and training events,” Mr Spencer said.

Damien Cooley, managing director of Cooley Auctions and Auctioneer, said Homely has proven there is a massive demand for competition and disruption in the Australian property portal space, with hundreds of top real estate principals already onboard their agent participation model.

“I’m beyond excited to partner with Homely as their first brand ambassador,” Mr Cooley said. “The platform is a total game changer. Providing agents and consumers with a low-cost advertising alternative is just what the industry needs right now and in the future.”

Mark Kentwell, co-founder and director of PRD Newcastle who was recently crowned Australian Metropolitan Principal of the Year, believes bringing Damien on as a brand ambassador will elevate the Homely brand particularly in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

“Securing such a successful and highly respected figure like Damien as an ambassador goes to show just how serious Homely is about building a brand and upping their brand exposure. Homely is the low-cost property portal that the industry has been calling for, with enough consumer benefits to see Homely succeed as the ‘third player’ in the space,” Mr Kentwell concluded.
