Australian short-form real estate video app Ten Sixty — simply known as 1060 — has officially gone stateside, celebrating its Los Angeles launch last week.

Having already made waves on home soil since its launch in July — including being heralded by Gavin Rubinstein as “an incredibly powerful tool” in the new era of real estate digital marketing — the short-form video app was officially launched in the United States at a star-studded event.

In attendance were approximately 200 leading luxury agents spanning brands such as Coldwell Banker Luxury, Compass, Rodeo Realty, Sotheby’s, Douglas Elliman, and The Oppenheim Group, along with members of the Selling Sunset show, Brett Oppenheim and Amanza Smith.

Founder Matthew Snowden explained that the app “is helping redefine real estate into a new era, where real estate becomes more real-time, authentic, social, and fun for agents, home buyers and home lovers”.

“The new medium is short-form video, and it’s quickly changing real estate on a global scale, as agents become influencers and storytellers through short videos,” Mr Snowden said.

Jason Oppenheim, global ambassador for the app, confirmed his belief not only in 1060 “but also Matt’s vision”, explaining that most of his current listings are on the app.

“When you’re putting your reputation behind anything, I think that it’s most important especially in tech. It’s a great idea, and an intelligent person that knows what they’re doing [is] behind it,” he said.

Having expanded across not only Australia and the United States but also into Canada and the United Kingdom, 1060 has been well received by several industry juggernauts, including Joyce Rey, agent at Coldwell Banker.

“It’s a very creative way to explore property,” she said. “It gives a personal aspect to the actual video tour, and it’s so easy.”

Further testament came from Glennda Baker of Glennda Baker & Associates, who compared it to another short-form video app.

“Ten Sixty is like the TikTok of real estate,” she explained.

“All of it is 100 per cent [for] real estate, and [it] is a social media platform where your buyers can engage with you. I think this is going to be big.

“Ten Sixty is the newest, best real estate app for listing videos that you can do yourself. If you are in real estate, this is absolutely the best thing that has come to the real estate market in years.”

Since launching, Ten Sixty has been employed by agents at Laing & Simmons, McGrath, Ray White, LJ Hooker, Harcourts, Raine & Horne, and Barry Plant.
