A rural real estate business with two offices in northern NSW will join a national network under the direction of a new leader.

Jake Williams has been a part of the Bettington Rural business, which has offices in Quirindi and Murrurundi, since 2017. Having taken the reins from David Bettington after his retirement this year, Mr Williams decided to embark on the next phase of the business with the help of a national network, relaunching as Raine & Horne Rural Quirindi and Raine & Horne Rural Murrurundi.

With a background both working the land and providing real estate services relating to it, Mr Williams brings extensive experience to this new role leading a farming-focused business, though the offices will also offer residential services.

Mr Williams began his career as a jackaroo before pursuing studies in farm management at Orange Agricultural College. Prior to joining up with Mr Bettington, he worked as a rural sales agent in Quirindi and a real estate photographer in Sydney.

He credits the lessons he learned on these jobs for preparing him to step into the role of principal: “My diverse background in farming and real estate has prepared me to cater to the unique needs of this region. The international links and marketing prowess Raine & Horne brings will undoubtedly elevate our service to our clients in Quirindi and Murrurundi.”

Mr Williams spoke of his hope of expanding the firm’s capabilities under the auspices of its new branding.

“Joining Raine & Horne allows us to expand our rural services through the rural brand.

“What’s more, Raine & Horne provides me with a marketing approach reminiscent of what I saw when I was working as a photographer in Sydney, which I had been unable to replicate up here,” Mr Williams said.

He is looking to modernise much of the agency’s capabilities, with plans to introduce online auctions, beef up its social media activity and transition to new technologies.

“We’ve seen a trickle of sales through Facebook, and our focus will be on offering tailored marketing strategies that harness the power of digital platforms and AI,” Mr Williams explained.

“With the rise of online options, we aim to tap into new avenues to connect buyers and sellers in this vibrant rural community”.

Of those buyers, he said that while demand from city dwellers looking to make a lifestyle change has slowed of late, there’s still robust interest from downsizers out of Lake Macquarie, the Central Coast and the Lower Hunter regions of NSW.

Welcoming the new offices to the fold, Raine & Horne’s executive chairman Angus Raine said the network is excited to be a part of the next phase for this longstanding business.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jake to the Raine & Horne family. His comprehensive understanding of rural life and his dynamic approach to real estate make him the perfect fit to lead our expansion in this region,” Mr Raine said.
