The global commercial real estate services firm has made five strategic appointments to its logistics and industrial team in South Sydney.

Tom Barnier and Nick Mallett will now lead the team in the roles of directors, joint heads of brokerage, logistics and industrial for Sydney South.

Jake Savery and Eliza Dedman, meanwhile, have been named associate directors, while Matthew Simmon has been appointed as an analyst.

The firm feels the significant growth shows its commitment to delivering “unmatched expertise” within the logistics and industrial space.

The new appointees together contribute a depth of knowledge in the sector.

Mr Barnier brings over 12 years of experience in the real estate industry, having started his career in the sector working for Tungsten Property in New York City. He has since demonstrated his expertise in commercial property companies both in Australia and abroad, specialising in the sale and leasing of commercial and residential properties.

Mr Mallett transitioned from the financial sector in 2015, and has since established himself as a presence in the South Sydney industrial market working with Colliers.

Starting his career as a property solicitor, Mr Savery later specialised in the commercial banking sector before becoming a commercial broker in 2018, with a focus on Auckland, where he was living at the time. A relocation to Sydney has seen him establish strong relationships with tenants and property owners in the South Sydney industrial market.

On her part, Ms Dedman brings a significant technical background in design and construction, most recently having worked as the head of strategy and partnerships in a commercial construction and maintenance firm.

And Mr Simmon is a recent UTS graduate, having completed a bachelor of property economics. The firm cited his dedication to academic excellence, coupled with his active participation in local community groups, as valuable assets in the team.

With this addition in headcount, Cushman & Wakefield’s international director and head of industrial and logistics for ANZ, Tony Iuliano, noted that the firm’s industrial and logistics force in the region now totals 77 specialists.

“This strategic expansion brings together a diverse and talented pool of professionals, enhancing our capabilities to meet the evolving demands of these dynamic sectors and our valued clients,” Mr Iuliano said.

Moreover, the firm’s national director, head of industrial and logistics – brokerage, ANZ, David Hall, said that he was thrilled to welcome the new faces and felt sure their collective experience would “undoubtedly contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional service and value to our clients”.

“As Cushman & Wakefield continues to grow, we remain focused on attracting top talent to strengthen our position as a leader in the real estate industry,” he added.
