A merger has seen two long-standing Sunshine Coast agencies begin working together.

It’s been revealed that McGrath Buderim & Mooloolaba have acquired long-standing local specialists Stewart Property — as spearheaded by veteran agent and well-known industry figure Vicki Stewart.

A statement said “Stewart Property brings to McGrath more than 30 years’ experience setting records for sellers in Mooloolaba, Buderim, Kawana Island, Maroochydore and surrounds”.

McGrath Buderim & Mooloolaba principal Chris Pace said the acquisition is a benefit to both sellers and landlords of the agency, who will now have access to increased resources, collaboration and market connections.

Co-principal Damien Michael, whose mother worked alongside Ms Stewart in the 1980s, has considered “Vicki’s client and community relationships are without peer”.

Commenting that, as a result of the familial connection, he has followed Ms Stewart’s career as a leading agent on the Coast for a long time, he said: “Culturally, Vicki and her team have delivered ‘client-first’ service within the heart of Mooloolaba, and those values perfectly complement how Chris, I and the rest of McGrath Buderim & Mooloolaba approach every day.”

Having first opened their offices seven years ago, Mr Pace called the acquisition “a significant milestone for our sales, property management and administrative specialists who’ll leverage the expansion to take client service to new levels”.

Since beginning her work in the Mooloolaba area back in 1988, Ms Stewart has handled a number of property cycles for her clients.

And with the Buderim and Mooloolaba areas look set to deliver another boom period, the agent said: “My experience gives me confidence in what lies ahead for the region, especially as Brisbane and interstate buyers take advantage of remote working to put lifestyle first.”

From her perspective, “being part of the McGrath name and its 102-strong network will greatly benefit my clients”.

She expressed that the merger will open up greater connections with buyers and tenants who have “their eyes set on the centrepiece of the Sunshine Coast”, while also enabling her to devote more time to what she loves: listing and selling.

“I have always admired and respected the McGrath business at a national level, and what Chris and Damien have achieved for their clients, locally,” she said.
