Continuing to build on their success as local agents, colleagues Trudy Baron and Deb Hutchings decided to change the real estate experience for their Copacabana marketplace, identifying a huge gap in their local offerings.
As agents who hold a high value to delivering precision-perfect, customised tailored service to their clients, Trudy and Deb set out to answer the community’s desperate calls for an elite, client-centric service in the form of a fresh, new brand, backed by a team of highly experienced agents.
A chance meeting at a leadership conference in the Hunter Valley saw the introduction of Manos and Maria Findikakis, Co-founders of Eview Group, and their pathway to ownership saw a positive shift. At a time where Trudy and Deb were adjusting to the magnitude of the financial outlays and system setups, Manos and Maria provided reassurance and encouragement that their concept was worth pursuing, opening their eyes to the world of individuality, freedom and support; three values at the crux of the national network’s operations. Shortly after this, ‘Change Property’ was born (July, 2019).
Now, two years later, Trudy and Deb reflect on their experience, having built their authentically warm, and customer-centric business with the support from Eview Group, who helped bolster their client-centric operations to deliver the power of a large Australian network, together with their centralised corporate, administration and compliance team.
“I remember the initial phase of planning, it really was an exciting time. We always knew that joining a larger franchise was not for us, as we wanted to curate an elevated and personalised experience for our vendors/buyers,” Deb explained. “And, we needed complete control in order to do that efficiently.”
Suggesting a ‘sliding doors’ moment took place when introduced to Manos and Maria, Deb explains, “It was one of those moments where we recognised the network model we had longed hoped for did actually exist, and it was exactly what we were seeking in terms of flexibility, opportunity and support. Manos and Maria’s ethics and family-oriented mentality really shone through and we felt right at home. We could see our individual and professional principles aligned; we knew this was the model for us,” explained Deb.
Launching ‘Change Property’ only six months prior to the unforeseen global pandemic, Trudy and Deb noted the immediate response to COVID-19, stating ‘It was just phenomenal. They were right there, from the moment it all began to collapse, picking up morale, providing direction, support, offering their time and resources, everything. They really were the light amongst a darkened environment, and as a network we collectively sailed through,” Trudy explained.
“Having acted on most of Manos’ instructions, we’ve now come out the other side of 2020 with all our team still intact, and in fact, closer than ever. We’ve been able to draw from other agents within the network and implement ideas that we can identify as having worked, or, bolster our operations off the experience of others, it’s a genuine collaboration across the network. Everyone genuinely works together, to ensure we all succeed,” Deb acknowledges.
For those idealising a fresh direction within the real estate industry, Trudy and Deb believe there’s no alternative, stating “It’s been extraordinary. To say we researched our options was an understatement, yet we’ve been consistently surprised with the add-ons, as part of this sensational network.
