Award-winning agent praises revolutionary portal

One of Australia’s leading independent agents says a new real estate portal that launched in WA is set to enhance client communication and yield significant efficiency gains for busy agents.

WA-based agent Stefanie Dobro has heaped praise on industry-led real estate portal followit, explaining it has the potential to transform the way she communicates with clients.

Followit was launched in Perth this week – the first official market for the website and app-based product outside of beta testing.

The platform – which has been described as the real estate equivalent of Instagram or Facebook and already has the backing of the majority of independent and franchise real estate CEOs in Australia – allows users to follow houses, streets, suburbs and agents.

It also allows agents to send push notifications to clients about specific properties.

Ms Dobro, associate director of Fremantle-based Caporn Young, was given a preview screening of the platform prior to its official launch, and praised its potential to revolutionise the way agents interact with clients.

“I think it’s phenomenal. I think we can push information through to buyers and consumers much more effectively, and keep them up to date real time. The whole thing about it is it makes it really easy for agents to get information out there.”

Ms Dobro used the example of a property viewing as an area where followit could result in time savings for agents.

“If someone books an appointment to view a property at five o’clock tonight, I can put it on there that I’m going to be at the property from five to 5.30 tonight. So if anybody else wants to come along, rather than me calling all the buyers that I may have spoken to who have said that they will come to the Saturday open, if I’ve only got a little of time I can put it on there and if they are following the property, they’ll immediately know that there’s another opportunity to view it.”

Ms Dobro said followit should integrate seamlessly with existing lead generation tactics.

“We can still build relationships through phone or email contact, but it’s another guarantee that the information is getting out there,” she said.

Ms Dobro is a multiple award-winning real estate agent, having taken out Western Australian Agent of the Year in the 2015 Australian Real Estate Results Awards.

Followit is available on the Apple and Google Play app stores.
