Major listings portal releases new feature

Domain has launched Domain Chat, a real time messaging tool which will allow agents to engage in one-on-one conversations and share documents.

The new app aims to simplify the time-consuming communication process between agents and property seekers, especially for agents who are constantly on the road. Domain Chat’s instantaneous communication tools will give agents ‘real time’ leads, which the portal says will decrease the time between inquiry and offer.

Domain said the new offering makes sense in the current market, with chat and messaging platforms rapidly becoming the most popular way for people to communicate.

“Domain Chat brings this trend to the property search for the first time to help agents have more personalised real time conversations with interested buyers,” Domain said in a statement.

LJ Hooker Willoughby/Artarmon is already using Domain Chat, and principal John McManus said the app helps buyers and enables agents to better service their clients.

Domain chief product Damon Pezaro said the app taps into today’s consumers’ wants and needs.

“In today’s technology-driven culture, we expect constant and convenient communication, whether we’re chatting with friends or buying a home. Real time conversations on mobile devices have become the norm and we’re hoping to bring this to the property industry with Domain Chat,” Mr Pezaro said.

“Domain Chat has the power to completely revolutionise the consumer-agent communication process, helping to make it a lot smoother and easy for everyone involved.

“We already have hundreds of agents on the platform and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. We’re eager to see how Domain Chat transforms the property experience for both agents and house hunters.”
