Strategies to secure 20 to 30-plus managements per month, despite other competitors offering cheaper fees, were revealed at a recent BDM conference.

Residential Property Manager recently had the pleasure of attending the Innovate 2015 Think – Create – Act tour in Sydney, which focused on tactics for growing PM departments through a BDM role.

Run by the BDM Academy, the conference focused on growing rent rolls through prospecting, developing unique selling points, marketing and personal growth.

Several successful speakers shared the techniques that help them to secure dozens of new managements per month in a climate dominated by competitors offering cheaper fees.

David Crosio from LJ Hooker Terrigal said the standout session for him was Wagga Property Management director Dave Skow’s question and answer presentation.

“He shared with us his high and low moments and showed everyone what can be achieved with passion and determination,” he said.

Laura Boucher from First National North Sydney said the day was very well planned and covered all aspects of rent roll growth.

“I took many great ideas from Kate Towerton’s session in the morning and loved Tara Bradbury’s session where she shared her past and current BDM strategies,” she said.

The tour is still running and seats are available for the Brisbane and Darwin events this week on 17 and 19 March.
