Online solution aims to improve PM-tenant relationship

A new cloud-based software system will allow property managers to consolidate their communications and payments into one portal.

Kloozo is designed to make life easier for property managers and make renting more transparent for tenants by creating a central hub for things like agreements and maintenance requests.

Co-founder Rob Silva told RPM the system was developed to help create better relationships between property managers, landlords and tenants.

“We’re trying to make the tenant a much more equal participant in the tenancy process,” Mr Silva said.

“They’ve got access to the same information about the property that the landlord does, so both sides are up-to-date with the latest information at all times.”

Kloozo includes a maintenance portal that allows tenants to request repairs and for property managers to schedule the work.

Mr Silva said the portal allows tenants to follow the process and not have to ring the property manager for updates.

Another of Kloozo’s features is that it allows users to make and track payments online, either through direct debit or a recurring credit card payment.

“There’s a general requirement these days that a landlord has to provide a non-cash, fee-free method of payment for a tenant and we can do that,” Mr Silva said.
