Property management businesses that don't hold weekly meetings could be missing out on a valuable chance to share knowledge and build team cohesion.

LJ Hooker network performance manager Amy Sanderson suggested that businesses that don’t conduct weekly meetings should put them on the agenda.

“One of the things I had with my team was that everyone had to bring either a win or a challenge to that meeting and it had to be something that had happened during that week,” Ms Sanderson told the PPM National Property Managers Conference.

She said weekly meetings allow team members to share their good and bad conversations with clients so they can applaud the good and learn from the bad.

“If you’ve had a conversation with your client where you’re left wishing you said something else, share that with the team so everyone can go straight into the positive in case that scenario happens to them.”

According to Ms Sanderson, weekly meetings also allow team members to share their burdens and learn from one another.

“If you’ve got a task that seems too hard, bring it to the weekly meeting so you can find out how the rest of your team would handle it so you can get it off your desk quickly.”
