One of Queensland’s best performing agents has taken a step up and opened her own Ray White business in a north Queensland city earmarked for growth, in the wake of the recent strong Sydney and Melbourne property cycles.

Julie Mahoney has opened Ray White Julie Mahoney in the North Ward suburb of Townsville in Queensland.

Ms Mahoney was recently crowned as the top salesperson in the state, according to data by Pricefinder, at the independent A List Awards.

She has a science degree, worked previously as a commodity trader and has been an agent in the north Queensland region for the last decade.

Ms Mahoney said that the hallmark of her success is consistency — “from the moment I stepped on the field”.

“I am also blessed to work in a beautiful community and I have had such wonderful referrals and advocates,” the agent said.

“I just don’t stop and I give it my all. I have surrounded myself with some amazing people, too, which makes a huge difference.”

Ms Mahoney said that her success has been a team effort.

“You simply cannot be a superhero without a great support team behind you, and I have that. I cannot wait to see what the future holds.

“I am very passionate about regional Australia, and it has been tough here. I have been working in a market that has been trending down since 2012, so I have to be the best of the best to move my clients forward.

“I will move at an exponential rate to get the deals done for my vendors.”

Ms Mahoney lives locally with her husband, Paul, and is a mother of three children.

The Mahoneys will lead their new business together.

“Paul’s my rock and the center of my universe, but I want to be a good role model for my children, so that’s why I am starting my own business up.

“My passion is still selling, but the thought of growing a really amazing sales team is exciting. Ray White surrounds themselves with the best of the best, they invest in products and they invest in their network.”

Ms Mahoney describes herself as being “very grounded”.

“I am very black and white and I always represent the vendor. I am very passionate about keeping up with technology in our industry. I have always been mindful about being relevant,” the agent said.

“I am so lucky as I genuinely love what I do. I fell into the real estate industry and I love working in it.”

Ray White Queensland chief executive officer Tony Warland said that Ms Mahoney is an exceptional real estate agent.

“We are truly blessed to have someone of her calibre in the Ray White network, and I look forward to supporting Julie’s ambitions,” the CEO said.
