Elders rural real estate salesperson Rob Rickard has once again taken out National Rural Salesperson of the Year at the annual Elders Real Estate Awards.

Mr Rickard took out the award, alongside Victorian Salesperson of the Year, for the seventh consecutive year.

Mr Rickard has worked in the Camperdown and Mortlake region since 2001 and attributes his success to the support he receives from the wider Elders network.

“I owe a lot of my knowledge to my local and national colleagues who I’ve learnt from over the years,” the agent said.

Mr Rickard said that property was a big investment and people looked for an agent who knew the area and would work alongside them to achieve results.

“Property is a significant investment and people gravitate towards an agent who can offer knowledge about the local area and work collaboratively with them to achieve the result they’re looking for in their business,” the agent said.

Mr Rickard was also recognised as an Elders Elite Agent after satisfying the criteria required to qualify.

Elders managing director and CEO Mark Allison praised Mr Rickard’s strong work ethic and willingness to evolve.

“Rob is a consistently high-performing agent who demonstrates the value of investing time and energy into improving his own practical skills and product knowledge,” Mr Allison said.

“By ensuring he has a comprehensive understanding of his clients, his community and changes within the market, he creates confidence within his clients and is able to deliver exceptional results.”

Mr Rickard said that technology has changed the game of real estate a lot and opened it up to new strategies.

“Technology is changing so quickly, opening up new avenues and opportunities to communicate with our clients and sell products,” the agent said.

No matter how much the game changes though, Mr Rickard said that the central focus will always remain on the client.

“You can’t beat good old-fashioned face-to-face contact and you can’t underestimate the power of building and maintaining strong, sustainable relationships,” the agent said.
