The Agency has gained another high-profile industry veteran, who joins the group as its new real estate coach.

Joe Abboud has been coaching agents since the 1980s when he was appointed to the education officer role for the REINSW’s Inner West division.

In his new role for The Agency, the veteran coach will be providing tailored coaching programs for agents throughout the network, including for agents on the west coast.

The Agency’s national director of sales, Thomas McGlynn, welcomed Mr Abboud into the group and said that his experience positioned him perfectly to guide agents through the industry.

“Having Joe join our business means he can continue to service his long-term customer base but also take on a role that will see him available to our network for coaching and mentoring. Given his 40 years of experience selling real estate in Australia, he is perfectly positioned to guide our people through market ups and downs.”

Mr Abboud said that he was excited to work with a brand that cares about its agents and wants to see them improve.

“I wanted to work with a brand that genuinely cares about its agents. This is The Agency mantra that has been proven since it launched,” the coach said.

“I am also aligned with the brand’s steady growth, only selecting like-minded agents to join, while always seeking good people in our community to commence a career in real estate.”

Mr Abboud’s training program starts with a minimum of seven hours spent with each agent followed by ongoing support via video conferencing, email and phones.

“Recently, I worked with an agent who had 13 open homes, with decreasing numbers attending. With a few improvements that we implemented, we sold five properties in one day,” Mr Abboud said.

Mr Abboud’s training focus is on helping agents to find a connection with buyers and sellers and using that to shift property.

“In today’s market, there are many buyers who may have been active, and are now passive; what they need is an agent who will work closely with them to help them find the home they love. It’s about matching qualified buyers with listings,” the veteran said.
