Andrew Thomson, arguably the NSW Central Coast’s most dedicated agent, has signed with one of the country’s fastest-moving networks and opened an office in the strategically significant region — its 13th this year.

Andrew Thomson is the new principal of Stone Real Estate Copacabana.

Mr Thomson said that he was drawn to the Stone boutique brand because of its congruous values.

“I really like the way they’ve made sure they engage people with properties more so than any other agency out there via their technology that allows people to spend time getting to know a property well before they even step inside,” Mr Thomson said.

“To be able to do this really invites an engagement well beyond simply imagining what a property could be like by looking at a few pictures.

“The fact Stone embraces these elements as well is what really drew me to them.”

Mr Thomson also lauded Stone’s one-client database.

“Larger franchises will pretend they have this kind of interconnected network, but they’re all independent competing franchises.

“There is a genuine connection with all the Stone offices. I truly believe Stone Real Estate is the only agency I’ve seen with a big-picture approach like this. We’ve really attracted a lot of interest too since word spread about our joining Stone which is uplifting in this market.”

Mr Thomson said that a key factor to his success in real estate is a genuine passion for serving clients.

Respect

He said that this is driven by having been in their shoes so many times, experiences which eventually led him to switch careers in 2007 from media and television.

“After almost a lifetime of experience with real estate agents, [my wife Peta and I] could see there was this all too casual approach to service and dealing with people,” Mr Thomson said.

“We felt there was often a general lack of respect for the emotional journey people were on and the situation they were in — a lack of awareness of the emotional toll it takes on people when they’re selling a house which is almost always their biggest asset.

“Sometimes they really need to just know someone is in their corner who’s well and truly doing something for them.”

Peta Thomson will be managing the Stone Copacabana office.

Stone Real Estate’s franchising director, Luke Cameron, said that Mr Thomson’s personal vision and philosophies is a “perfect fit” for the boutique agency.

“This is simply the perfect way to cap off a spectacular year for Stone,” Mr Cameron said.

“This year we’ve opened 13 franchises in strategic, key, growth markets including our first interstate office with Stone Mornington Peninsula, and for next year we already have five offices signed to open in a five-week period.”
