Belle Property Commercial has launched its largest and most ambitious business in Queensland, in response to the state’s rising infrastructure and development activity.
Belle Property Commercial has launched Belle Property Retail, Brisbane.
Managing director of Belle Property Commercial Michael Hanscomb said that Belle Property Retail will be the flagship brand within the Belle Property Commercial group.
“Now more than ever, retail owners in Queensland are seeking a genuine, focused and experienced leasing and management partner,” he said.
“With an explosion of online shopping and the arrival of large-scale international retail brands offering attractive pricing, Brisbane and the broader state is facing the most challenging retail leasing market I have witnessed in the course of my career. It’s the ideal time for our specialist team to launch into the market to assist.”
Mr Hanscomb said the business has secured funding to roll out the retail agency across Australia.
He said the new office will initially focus on project leasing, shopping centre leasing and property management divisions.
“It is a strategic move to open in Queensland initially because we see a market that lacks a first-class specialist retail agency,” the MD said.
The CBD and fringe leasing division will be led by Michael, who has been a top Brisbane CBD retail agent over the past 12 years, accounting for approximately 80 per cent of all prime retail leasing deals and retail projects in the Brisbane CBD.
The Queensland operation will be led by Nick Kelly, a prominent institutional retail leasing executive.
“Nick’s leadership is a major asset for the Brisbane team as he is an expert in project leasing and strategic shopping centre leasing, and he has successfully led multiple flagship assets, including Queens Plaza, Brisbane Myer Centre, Canberra Centre, and most recently Castle Towers, one of the largest Super Regional Shopping Centre projects ever undertaken in Australia,” Mr Hanscomb said.
“He is also highly rewarded, earning various accolades whilst working with major Australian institutions, including Charter Hall, Stockland, Vicinity Centres and most recently QIC.”
Michael said the shopping centre team will be bolstered by James Harvey, who offers 10 years of experience in retail leasing and a diverse background spanning shopping centre leasing and strategic network planning for some of Australia’s leading food and beverage operators.
Paula Kelly will take care of property management for the new operation.
“Paula brings over 30 years of experience, having held senior management positions on major retail assets including Queens Plaza, Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, Logan Hyperdome and Broadway on the Mall,” Mr Hanscomb said.
