‘Future-proofing’ lands Abboud at The Agency

With four decades of experience under his belt, and having spent the last two decades as an independent business owner, The Agency has revealed Tony Abboud as leading the network’s newest Sydney operation.

Mr Abboud’s Snowden Parkes brand has been a heavyweight of Sydney’s north-western corridor for a long time, but he’s now taking up an opportunity as The Agency’s newest recruit, alongside his team.

It means The Agency will have access to Sydney suburbs from Gladesville all the way through to Parramatta, according to real estate CEO Matt Lahood, who considers that corridor as an important market segment for the network’s expansion plan.

He commented that the network “is gaining an extraordinary asset in Tony Abboud”.

“Tony Abboud is an admired figure in the real estate industry, with decades of experience — his knowledge, ethical standards and business acumen are revered,” Mr Lahood said.

Calling out “powerhouse sales manager” Melissa Iosifidis also, the CEO said the group “are a formidable force in the region and we are honoured they will be taking The Agency brand into the North West corridor of Sydney”.

“Future-proofing” has been described as a key driver of Mr Abboud’s move into the company.

“Prior to 1999, we were a franchise business, it did not work for us. Moving forward in 2021, The Agency model is the right fit for us with the right mix of services,” he explained.

“Not only do we gain a flexible model, but the right culture and a highly identifiable brand led by someone I greatly respect, Matt Lahood.”

He said the business’s experience with the pandemic “gave my sales manager Melissa and I the opportunity to assess the business and consider what the future of the industry would look like, we assessed our team’s needs and our clients’ needs”.

“We recognised that by joining The Agency, a national brand with a unique platform, we could future-proof our business,” he said.

Mr Abboud said there was a realisation that the team needed to focus their energy in the right direction, to take full advantage of the opportunities in the market.

He commented that “The Agency model provides all the professional services that we require, they take care of the business processes efficiently and cost-effectively so we can focus on our relationships and connections”.

“This ensures our energy is directed in the right way. If you look after your team, they look after your clients and everyone wins,” the business owner advised.

The network has touted Mr Abboud’s outstanding sales and property management services, as well as the fact that he has held a number of key roles within business and industry bodies, and has worked with local and state government in a consultancy capacity.

According to Mr Abboud himself, “it is important to give back”.

“I have always believed in leading by example and that has gone beyond my own business, maintaining genuine community connections has been essential and I have been heavily involved with local councils, business chambers and industry organisations,” he said.

Group CEO Geoff Lucas has also weighed in on Mr Abboud’s move into the network, expressing his excitement at the network’s reaching of another milestone in Sydney.

He said: “The Agency North West will focus on expansion from Sydney’s northern suburbs through to the Parramatta district.”

Describing the area as “burgeoning” and with a diverse range of property categories that suit a wide range of buyers, Mr Lucas indicated “Tony Abboud has been instrumental in working with local and state government on many of these infrastructure initiatives”.
