$1.2M GCI in 1 month: Central Coast team sets new standard

August has proved plentiful for The Agency Central Coast.

Led by Brian Whiteman, The Agency’s Central Coast team has reportedly closed on $1,222,000 in commission over the month of August, also stating that they managed to sell more properties than any other network in the region during the month.

Remarkably, it was achieved while lockdowns and severe restrictions hampered the ability to get prospective buyers through properties.

Mr Whiteman’s big month is just the latest in a slew of wins for the team. The Agency reports the Central Coast office has doubled the size of its business in the past 12 months, and has been setting sales records across the region for value and volume, transacting over 200 homes per year.

Careful not to take all the credit, Mr Whiteman called attention to the members of his business that got them over the line.

“As a lead agent, I’m doing all the listings side of things but when it comes to selling, there’s Josh Froud who has been working with me for seven years, Tony Trinder who has been with me for three years, and Simon Mitrovich came on 12 months ago,” Mr Whiteman said.

“Then there’s Bridget (Dempsey) who is doing all the back end and my wife Jen who is running around and filling in the gaps. You need a great team to do that or the quality control wouldn’t be there.”

He also recognised that Sydney-siders’ desire to get more space after being confined to their homes, coupled with the final completion of the NorthConnex tunnel, delivered an opportunity into their hands.

“With NorthConnex, you can go from the Central Coast through to the Harbour Bridge and into Randwick in an hour. That’s certainly changed how people view us as a desirable place to live,” Brian said.

The properties sold ranged in value from $400,000 to $3.5 million.

One notable transaction was the sale of 7 Longview Close in Wamberal, which went for $3 million, beating the street record by $1 million. It had been on the market with another agent for four months before Mr Whiteman tried his luck. The sellers, he said, couldn’t believe the outcome.

Mr. Whiteman may only have seven years of industry experience, but he believes he’s helped by a unique recipe for success.

“In this industry, you need to have boundless energy, be a chameleon and an eternal optimist. Build a great foundation, be honest and give a great energy where people feel good to be around you,” he said.

And the freedom afforded him by working with The Agency was a big factor in meeting August’s high mark, Mr Whiteman said. Being able to work all over, rather than restricted to a certain patch, meant he could pursue a wider range of leads.

“The big advantage of our model as opposed to a franchise model, which I spent a number of years in previously, is that as an agent we are allowed to list and sell wherever we like.”
