Agents leave brands for different reasons, but ultimately every person who chooses to leave a brand believes they are going to be better off, but that’s not always the case. Sometimes it turns out that it’s not everything they thought it would be or not everything they were promised it would be.

However, Coronis is bucking the trend with 12 agents returning to the brand after various periods of time away with most citing team culture and support as the main reasons.

Coronis Chief Operating Officer Karuna Dimelow couldn’t be happier to welcome them back to the team, recognising there has been multiple changes within the business over the past two years.

“I love that despite whatever reason someone left, that they feel like they can reach out to me or one of the Agency Directors and say ‘hey, I want to come back, let’s talk’,” Ms Dimelow said.

“People change, businesses change, circumstances change … I get that, so the fact that so many of our agents are returning because they feel like Coronis is home for them and the best place for them to achieve their goals is what really drives me everyday.

A few reasons of why some of our agents returned from national brands or ‘bring your own brand / powered by’ models are:

“I came back for the people and the team culture. Coronis’ structure means that I am not competing against my principal or everyone in my office for listings and that I have an immense amount of support around me. Tamika (Agency Director) doesn’t list or sell so she isn’t focused on her clients and building her brand, she’s focused on me and helping me with training, negotiating, mindset etc. It’s not even 11am and I have called her three times this morning for advice.”

Tamika Kent and Karuna Dimelow were two of the big reasons I came back. They’re quality leaders who have had a really positive impact on me and my EBU who I brought with me when I returned six weeks ago. It’s a high-performance culture, there are lots of people around and the energy is pumping so I’m more motivated to succeed. The other reason was renumeration – when you take into consideration you have no overheads, you get given rent roll leads, you have access to a large database, the branding, all the sales training and lead gen, the value is better and the benefits outweigh everything.”

When I left, Michael Power was my number 1 competition in my area, so I came back and partnered with him and now we’re smashing it together, there is no pressure to achieve results and we’re just having fun. I’m loving it since I’ve been back - no one is cutting your lunch or stealing listings off you and everyone shares leads so you can focus on your core suburb. You help the other agents out, they help you out – it’s a real team culture.”

The growth opportunities are far better. Karuna and Omar (Agency Director) are always there, you can call them whenever you need support and they’ve actively helped me set up my EBU, hire a sales associate and put the right systems in place to operate as a team, not a single agent which I wouldn’t have gotten elsewhere.”

“I left for a couple of weeks and came back – I missed my team & the feeling of ‘home’ at Coronis. If I need an answer on a contract or marketing or need some advice, I pick up the phone and I have an answer within minutes whereas at my other agency, it would take 6 days and 27 people to get the answer to you from HQ in Melbourne, so I felt like I was working at Telstra or ANZ, not a local agency. There is no ‘fend for yourself’ mentality here, we’re teammates not competitors and your Agency Director is there to help you get listings, not compete against you.”
