Nambour set to surge, according to Sunshine Coast agent

According to Sunshine Coast agent Tristan Brown, his recent sale of a Nambour property that cracked the $1 million price point shows the hinterland town can no longer be ignored.

Just 15 minutes from the closest beach, Mr Brown has always felt that the area was overlooked, especially in comparison to similar locations on the Sunshine Coast.

This recent sale of 9 Pearl Parade for just short of $1.2 million is a boon for his RE/MAX outpost – which he purchased in February after working in the region for several years – and a testament to the belief he’s long held that Nambour deserved better.

“It was a landmark achievement for Nambour and signifies this town’s resurgence on the Sunshine Coast,” Mr Brown said.

He says the home captured the attention of Sunshine Coast locals and capital city dwellers looking for a sea-change, along with expressions of interest from as far away as New Zealand.

“Looking at the spread of the potential buyers for this and other properties, the prices they are willing to pay and the value they are seeing, suggests $1 million-plus is going to be the new normal,” Mr Brown predicted.

Of course, change doesn’t happen overnight. Mr Brown has been carefully observing the fluctuations in the area, noting a two-year increase in young professional couples and families moving to Nambour.

“With that comes a change in demographics and businesses are responding through better, broader product and service offerings,” Mr Brown noted.

He called attention to upgrades in the area, like the $86 million renovation of the hospital, as well as local efforts from the Reimagine Nambour association, as signs the area will continue to build on its attractive offerings.

According to him, even with an influx of interest, the area’s far from having reached its peak potential.

“There are pockets of Nambour that nobody hears about because they are not getting the exposure they should and that really needs to change.”

He’s hoping to duplicate the recent win with two more Nambour properties his RE/MAX agency is bringing to the market: one seeking offers over $899,000 and the other over $940,000.

“This town and its surrounds have tremendous opportunities for property owners, investors and residents,” Mr Brown said, “and on the back of the current real estate market explosion across southeast Queensland, we are seeing more and more buyers appreciate the value that lies within the tight-knit community of Nambour”.
