A Sydney real estate office opening has attracted none other than the NSW Minister for Finance and Small Business as its special guest.

Damien Tudehope, the NSW Minister for Finance and Small Business, was invited to the grand opening of Richard Matthews Real Estate’s second location, where he addressed staff and cut a ceremonial ribbon.

While the grand opening only took place this week, Richard Matthews Real Estate began operating out of its second office in Summer Hill in early October, as the city of Sydney emerged from a period of extended lockdown.

The Inner West business’ expansion to a second site was considered by director Richard Baini as a “show of optimism in the face of adversity” when the new office was first confirmed in August of this year.

According to the agency, this week’s grand opening marks a special occasion worth celebrating by the team, who have already “hit the ground running”.

Minister Tudehope reportedly took the time to commend the business both for its establishment a decade ago, and more recently, with the steps taken to kick off a second office during the state’s “harshest and longest” lockdown.

Mr Baini expressed: “The team at Richard Matthews Real Estate would like to thank NSW Minister for Finance and Small Business Damien Tudehope for opening our second Inner West office and recognising the growth and amazing achievements of our team during the most challenging climate businesses in Australia have experienced.”

Co-director Matthew Everingham also weighed in, noting, “Damien made special mention of the importance of strong leadership and incredible teamwork to have achieved what we have as a team, having observed our team triple in the last 18 months.”

It’s the second high-profile ministerial visit Richard Matthews has welcomed in 2021.

Earlier this year, then-premier Gladys Berejiklian attended the agency’s official reopening of its original office as the business celebrated 10 years in operation.
