Riki Tawhara and Damian Cameron are banking on opportunities in Bondi Junction in a bid to provide the best options for their clients.

The duo recently aligned with the Ray White brand to further amplify their unique strategy in the area.

Mr Tawhara, a former military officer, believes joining Ray White can help them achieve their goal of making their mark in their turf by optimising opportunities in their locale and treating people fairly.

“Bondi Junction is in the heart of the eastern suburbs and basing ourselves there allows central access all across the peninsula,” he said.

Mr Cameron, having lived in Queens Park himself, had a lot to share about the area adjacent to his own suburb.

“Bondi Junction is a very family friendly and desirable area. If you can’t get into the beachside suburbs, then it’s the next best thing,” he proudly said.

As someone who attended the nearby Waverley College, Mr Cameron also knows the importance of easy access to schools when choosing where to live.

He mentioned that Bondi Junction “also has some of the best schools in the city. It’s a great place if you are lucky enough to grow up there”.

Mr Cameron began his real estate career straight from school, first with a business partner, then eventually putting up his own agency.

Mr Tawhara, on the other hand, joined the military before making the switch to real estate. “After school, I went into the navy and it taught me discipline and how to manage people, it’s the two most important things I’ve taken away from my military career,” he said.

He first started as a buyer’s agent in Sydney’s western suburbs, where he catered to investors from the east. He subsequently transitioned to real estate, capitalising on his previous experience working with buyers to succeed in the field.

The two real estate professionals teamed up knowing their strengths produce synergy when combined.

Mr Cameron acknowledges he learned young “that if you want to get far then you need to make big leaps”.

“Ever since then I’ve known that you have to be a leader and to also be able to guide people,” he said.

Drawing on his military background, Mr Tawhara said he is “good at mentoring and getting the best out of people”, and also enjoys “running a sales team and understanding what works and what doesn’t work”.

He also believes his edge comes from having seen the other side of the coin: “I have worked both sides of the table and am one of the only agents in the east that has come from a buyer’s agent background so I know how important it is to nurture buyers.”

To further strengthen the connection with clients, Mr Cameron highlighted a unique proposition: “Our biggest point of difference will be that all our clients will have a direct line of communication with both directors, every decision we make will be made with the client’s best interest at heart.”

According to Mr Tawhara, “whether our clients are selling a $300,000 studio or a $10 million estate, we will always treat everyone equally, and attention to detail will always remain at our forefront regardless of price point. Both buyers and sellers in our market will be treated equally, as well as landlords and tenants.”

Ray White NSW chief executive Andrew McCulloch has welcomed Mr Cameron and Mr Tawhara to the network, expressing his confidence in the high-performing agents’ credentials: “I have no doubt they will be an asset to the group and look forward to celebrating their success in the future.”
