REB Dealmakers is back for the sixth consecutive year to celebrate the cream of the crop when it comes to Australian transactional agents, with partner Realtair.

The ranking methodology focuses on three major markets of dealmaking: volume, year-on-year growth and consistent performance.

Targeting younger agents and agents in rural areas or who operate outside of prestige areas, who, year on year, are consistent in their actions and ever-improving in the face of the obstacles presented with competing with more prestigious areas.

The ranking is based on residential sales for both the 2020–21 and 2021–22 financial years and is measured off the three key aforementioned metrics.

For Real Estate Business editor Grace Ormsby, REB Dealmakers offers an unparalleled opportunity for the country’s most consistent agents to be recognised for the work they are putting in day in and day out.

“The Dealmakers ranking is a highlight on the REB calendar. Each year, we are impressed by the work ethic and strategies at play across the breadth of the industry,” she said.

“Given the impressive stats and figures we have been privy to over the past financial year, I’d implore every single agent who has had a stellar year to submit for the chance to be recognised in this year’s ranking.”

Peter Matthews, chief executive and founder of Realtair, said: “We’re thrilled to be part of the REB Dealmaker rankings, helping shine a light on agents who are consistently growing and performing in their markets.

“Agents need to be mindful of buyer unease in an uncertain market. The best response to this unease is trust and transparency — consistently. The simplest way to achieve this is with technology.

“Through technology comes transparency: when the process is open, buyers know they’re not being disadvantaged in any way. A great by-product of this transparency will be an increased level of trust between consumers and agents.”

Mr Matthews concluded that “real estate agents can either adopt technology and mend the buyer/agent relationship long-term, or they can bury their head in the sand. Those that choose not to adopt technology will find the market will go past them and they’ll quickly be left behind.”
