Recognising Brisbane’s status as a key market, the network has ventured up north to add yet another outfit within the city’s landscape.

McGrath Estate Agents shared the opening of a new office in Aspley — bringing the number of the brand’s offices in the Queensland capital to seven.

Head of franchise for McGrath Christopher Mourd said the northern suburb has always been on the network’s expansion radar.

“We have always viewed Aspley as the gateway to the northern suburbs of Brisbane and an important area for us to grow our presence and expand our market share. It has the advantage of being only 13 kilometres from the CBD of Brisbane,” he explained.

The network cited that Aspley has seen strong price growth over the last year, with house prices in the area rising by 29.1 per cent to $955,000.

The new outfit’s 10-strong team — which will service clients from Aspley and its surrounding suburbs, including Carseldine, McDowall, Bridgeman Downs, and Geebung — will be led by Alexandra Porter and Claire McGrath, who the network referred to as “respected industry professionals”.

Ms Porter is stepping into the leadership role with a real estate career spanning 16 years, along with several accolades, including ranking 17th in REB’s 2020 Dealmaker awards and a spot in REB’s Top 50 Women in Real Estate for the same year.

She expressed her confidence in the long-term growth opportunity of the property industry in Aspley.

“Aspley is a very appealing suburb for families. It will continue to attract buyers with its diverse housing options, high concentration of parks, choice of well-regarded schools, shopping centres, as well as proximity to a train line and the Chermside dining and retail precinct,” she said.

Aside from her experience of negotiating over 1,000 sales transactions throughout her career, McGrath also highlighted that Ms Porter has developed a suite of first-class systems and processes and is currently running an EBU (effective business unit) to streamline her business activities — making her the perfect choice to lead the new office’s team.

Further enumerating Ms Porter’s achievements, the network disclosed that her recent transactions have clocked in at around $1 million or more.

Ms Porter’s strong performance comes hand-in-hand with McGrath Aspley team’s property transactions average of just 14 days on-market — a strong showing that the network credited to the unit’s “depth of market knowledge and combined experience”.

Meanwhile, the other half of the leadership duo, Mrs McGrath, has opened and managed real estate agencies in Australia as well as the United Kingdom throughout her 16-year career in the real estate space.

Drawing from her previous experience, Mrs McGrath will be focusing on her expertise in the development of high-performing teams as well as the acquisition and expansion of the property management business in her new role.

Adding to the office’s firepower is Tamika Kent in the role of sales manager, who has 10 years in the industry running leading real estate offices.

Providing insights on the current local market conditions, Ms Kent acknowledged that the market has “pulled back a little”, with fewer numbers of buyers ready to transact.

“Many are not making offers at the level they were at the peak of the market; however, properties are still selling, and sentiment is settling. There’s more choice for buyers now; and as a result, we’re starting to see more people enter the market,” she stated.

Regardless of market conditions, she underlined that there is always one thing that they can control: service delivery.

By operating under the McGrath brand, Ms Kent hopes their team can “reach the next level of service.”

On top of the network’s overarching goal to consolidate its presence in the Brisbane property market, Mrs McGrath said that the new office’s primary goal is to have a positive impact on the Aspley community.

“This partnership gives us the opportunity to introduce a higher calibre of real estate professionals to clients in our areas of focus.

“We aim to attract a team of like-minded individuals who are looking for professional progression, and we believe we now have the best platform to achieve this,” she concluded.
