A family business has continued its longstanding partnership, rejoining with the brand it’s been tied to for nearly 30 years.

The Laurieton NSW real estate office originally linked up with Nationwide Realty in the 90s, before merging with PRD to become PRD Laurieton in 1999.

Through numerous shifts within the local community and a changing of the guard in ownership, the office has opted to stay with PRD, a commitment it reaffirmed with this most recent signing.

Current Principal Simon Hancox started working in the business, then run by his parents in 2008, while his wife Natasha Hancox joined the operation in 2010.

Mr Hancox now leads the agency, having taken the reins in 2018, while Ms Hancox serves as office manager. The network recognised Mr Hancox’s commitment to the brand and to fostering up-and-coming talent in the industry by inducting him into the PRD Hall of Fame in 2021.

He describes the partnership as firmly entrenched in the business’s way of working, stating that the network “has been in mine and my familys blood for over 30 years”.

The support from the corporate team is always outstanding, and we have a very collaborative relationship where our feedback is not only welcomed but considered as part of our ongoing strategy,” Mr Hancox added.

PRD’s managing director Todd Hadley commented that the Laurieton office has contributed a great deal to the brand’s culture as well.

“Simon, Natasha and the Laurieton team are highly regarded in the PRD network. They are a team of strong operators and make the most of everything PRD has to offer. They truly champion the PRD brand, values and culture,” he said.

Speaking of culture, Mr Hancox described it as “one of contribution and assistance”, where experience and expertise are drawn on to solve any issue that might arise.

Knowing there is someone who has already been through a problem in the network means there is always a reliable voice when needed with sound advice. Thats really comforting. Everyone is extremely open within the network about how they operate their business, and what its successes and failings have been throughout their journey,” Mr Hancox said.

And he added that the brand has been able to foster an environment where bettering one’s business feels like enjoyable work.

“Finally, I should say, we also have a hell of a lot of fun at social and training events when we all go away to network and strengthen our own businesses. The PRD culture at these events is one of the things that keeps me signing my franchise agreement with ease, he said.
