From lease assistance to personal support, the best real estate leaders go the extra mile to help their team thrive.
When Ping Han first decided to join Place Estate Agents, she was surprised – but delighted – by the level of involvement demonstrated by the brand’s leaders.
“When we found our office location, Place’s CEO, Damian Hackett, went above and beyond by personally assisting with our lease negotiations, including driving me around Sunnybank to explore options,” she recalled.
Taxi duty wasn’t something Han was expecting from the CEO, but it ended up being a good omen of things to come.
For Han, the “active involvement of the founders in daily operations” ended up being one of the strongest appealing factors of life at Place.
“At Place, the founders genuinely prioritise doing right by their people. While growth is important, the emphasis is on growing with the right individuals,” she said.
“This commitment resonates throughout the company, creating a supportive environment where being a good person is as important as being a good real estate agent. It’s a collaborative and respectful group where business owners and their teams uplift each other, making it a fantastic community to be part of.”
From the start, a high level of business and administrative support was offered to Han when she first founded Place Sunnybank.
“We received professional assistance every step of the way from experienced department heads,” she said. “The support extends to areas such as HR, contracts, legal, marketing, PR, risk management, operations, technology and training.”
As well as a strong company culture, Han and co-owner Owen Chen were impressed by Place’s high-quality marketing, which added an air of luxury to all its listings.
“It wasn’t just stylish but also showcased high-calibre properties, conveying a sense of prestige and quality that was truly compelling, even if not every property was ‘high-end’,” Han said.
“During our visits to other Place offices, we were impressed by the sophisticated fit-outs and the vibrant, welcoming atmosphere.”
For Han and Chen, the transition to Place was a smooth one – but she underscored that agents who aspire to own a business with the brand must be willing to put in hard work.
“Owning a Place office is ideal for someone who leads by example – a high-performing agent who is highly motivated, committed, and focused on long-term success.”
“The opportunity requires a strong vision for building business equity and a dedication to serving clients and staff,” she said.
