Raine & Horne Hervey Bay has changed hands for the second time in its over 40-year history, with its new principal continuing its long-standing legacy amid strong local demand for residential and commercial properties.
Raine & Horne Hervey Bay has changed ownership for only the second time in over 40 years, with sales manager Tim Wessling named the new principal of both its residential and commercial divisions.
Wessling has been with the firm for two decades and succeeds owner Graham Cockerill, who acquired the agency in 1992 from founder Jack Delaney.
Wessling served as sales manager for the past eight years and said it’s a privilege to be taking over the business, given it has had few principals in its history.
“Graham has been a very hands-on principal and a mentor to me throughout my career, and I’m proud to carry forward the legacy he and Emmy have built,” he said.
He said the decision to step up as principal stemmed from a long-running respect for the brand.
“It offers excellent systems and technology, but more importantly, it’s a name people know and trust.”
Wessling said there is currently strong buyer demand within Hervey Bay’s residential and commercial markets.
“On the commercial property front, business confidence is reflected in leasing activity, and that in turn is attracting investors.
“It’s a great time to be part of the Fraser Coast property market.”
The network said former owner Graham Cockerill and general manager Emmy Turner will remain involved with the business to ensure a seamless transition.
Cockerill said Wessling is a proven sales leader with a deep connection to the local community.
“His decision to take the reins ensures continuity for our clients while the next chapter for both our residential and commercial businesses in the Hervey Bay region is in safe hands,” he said.
