Despite flat market conditions there are plenty of opportunities for real estate agents and property managers online, one industry pundit has claimed.

According to rent.com.au managing director Mark Woschnak, real estate agents and property managers looking to increase listings and rental roles need to turn their attention to the online market.

Speaking to Real Estate Business, Mr Woschnak said an increasing number of property investors, landlords and tenants have shifted their focus away from traditional media and are moving into the online market, with agents cashing in on the opportunities.

“With the market being relatively flat at the moment rental property departments are really the cornerstone of the financial management of agencies,” Mr Woschnak said.

“The online market now has a number of services that really fit in with the ideal of growing your rent role department, with services that target investors and landlords in a really effective medium for agents.”

Mr Woschnak said property professionals that fail to make the move to the online market will ultimately miss out on generating new business through an effective and simple medium.

“As most landlords will seek the use of a professional property manager or agent we have developed a tenancy form that is filled out by the landlord than sent out to all listed agents in the area.

“Agents are getting actual management leads arriving directly to their inbox and then are able to respond with their information and contact details, in a bid to win over that listing.”
