The Peard Real Estate Group has opened an office in Mandurah, south of Perth, as part of a $2 million investment by the company in the area over the past three years.

“While many other real estate companies have left Mandurah or simply gone out of business, Peard is now making a major financial commitment in the area,” Peter Peard, CEO of The Peard Real Estate Group, said.

“This major new investment comes at a time when Peard has recorded a major improvement in sales over the first part of 2012 with property sales in Mandurah jumping by around 30 per cent.

According to Peard, which has eight shop fronts across Perth, the 300sqm office was purchased for $1 million and also just been refurbished at a cost of over $100,000 as part of the Peard Group’s strategic plan for the Mandurah area.

“Since the company purchased the Ray White office in Mandurah three years ago, it has invested a further $1 million in its Mandurah operations,” Peard added.

The company also announced that one of its local sales representatives, Andrea Van Bekkem, is a shareholder in the new office.

“Andrea was our top selling sales representative in Mandurah for 2010-2011 and has specialised in residential and acreage property in the Murray Region for the past seven years,” the company said.

Mr Peard said Ms Van Bekkem’s promotion was part of the company’s policy of promoting local ownership of offices, and encouraging career paths for its staff, especially female employees.

“The staff at Peard Mandurah consists Bill Keenan is licensee who is highly respected by all and a sales team of eight representativesm” Ms Van Bekkem said.

“Our sales staff share a combined 132 years of sales experience covering all aspects of real estate sales from acreage specialists – to project development specialists.

“Our office has also a dedicated team of experienced property managers who are now achieving very high rental returns for our clients due to the strong demand for rental accommodation in the area.”

Late last year the Perth-based group announced plans to recruit 50 new staff in 2012, after having recruited 67 employees in the 18 months to December 2011.
