A home DIY enthusiast and social media influencer with over 1.3 million followers has partnered with one of Australia’s biggest real estate names to become their new brand ambassador.

Geneva Vanderzeil has struck a deal with LJ Hooker that will see her create exclusive video content for the brand’s social channels to inspire Australians to get creative.

The influencer said she was thrilled to begin the relationship with LJ Hooker to share her knowledge on how to make a space feel like it’s truly home.

“When looking for a new home, I’m always looking out for the uncapitalised potential, so how I can take a property that is basic and turn it into a beautiful, inviting home through renovations and styling,” she said, noting that she hoped to help sellers who were preparing to list. “The same can apply when selling a property that may need to be spruced up a bit.”

Ruth Trewhella, LJ Hooker Group’s COO, said that she expects the partnership would give the brand a boost as it looks to expand its digital presence and social media following.

“With DIY projects surging in popularity over the last two years, our partnership with Geneva will give LJ Hooker a creative flare and demonstrate our relevance and expertise across all aspects of the home while also generating brand awareness and community growth by tapping into new audiences through Geneva’s channels,” Ms Trewhella said.

She noted that when approaching the partnership, the company found a natural alignment between their guiding principles and the message Ms Vanderzeil put forward to her following.

“LJ Hooker’s long-standing philosophy is that real estate is not about houses, it’s about people, which we incorporate into every stage of our business operations. Geneva’s approach embodies the LJ Hooker brand and its values, making this partnership harmonious,” Ms Trewhella said, adding that they united in the pursuit of encouraging Australians to make the most of their homes.

“Geneva’s authentic and earthy style is on-trend and highly sought-after and resonates with Australian consumers wanting to invest in their home. Sharing her insights and expertise on DIY projects, upcycling and styling across our digital and social media channels will cement LJ Hooker’s position as an innovative brand and help us to continue connecting with consumers.”

Ms Vanderzeil added: “A home is only made a home because of the people that live in it, and that’s what my ethos is all about, which is why I’m delighted to be partnering with LJ Hooker, whose people-first approach to real estate is aligned with my own.”
