Kev, congratulations on being named a finalist in the Buyer’s Agent of the Year category for the Real Estate Business Awards 2024. How does it feel to be recognised as a finalist?
I’m honoured to be recognised amongst such incredible operators in the industry.
As someone who had been overlooked by many (including family) in my younger years, I also feel proud as it’s been a long journey and it reinforces what can be achieved with the powerful combination of property along with an unwavering determination for success.
This recognition shows others what can be achieved.
In your eyes, what does it take to be a good buyer’s agent?
- Specialist in their chosen field, whether it be in the national investment space, or local owner-occupier, as opposed to being a jack of all trades. It’s that focus that sets them apart.
- Someone who provides full transparency to clients, educating in the journey and quantifying all decisions.
- Providing genuine post-settlement support and always having a long-term view with the client in mind.
- Lastly, recognising that we’re not perfect, and it’s how we respond to situations and our care for others are what will create a lasting impression.
There’s an increasing number of buyer’s agents out there. What’s your unique selling point?
My unique selling point is that I put ethics and transparency at the forefront of everything I do.
I never use buzzwords or marketing terms to prospective clients, and I’m more than happy to share my complete end-to-end process with clients.
This is why I am grateful to have developed strong relationships and trust, leading to repeat and referral-based business.
Throughout your career, what have been your biggest achievements?
The awards, testimonials and client success stories have all been monumental achievements, but I would have to say it’s the life-changing outcomes for clients through this process that is the biggest achievement.
One example is my client Adam, who I helped purchase multiple properties and gained significant equity within a short period – getting a call from him to let me know that he’s now in a position to leave a job that was damaging his mental health because the equity in his portfolio helped create a buffer and confidence to do so. This is relatable to myself as well, and while we talk about long-term financial freedom, even within a relatively short period, property can provide life-changing outcomes, and I’m grateful to help others achieve this.
What can we expect from you in the year ahead?
Team growth as well as advancements in processes and tech to ensure client experiences continue to exceed expectations.
I will also be personally growing my property portfolio using the same strategies in the same locations as I buy for clients and will document/film the process.
