For almost all of 2020, COVID stopped real estate conferences across much of the planet, now as Australia is opening back up, the team at Market Buy wants to improve “the way things have always been done.”

We’ve travelled the world and been to some amazing conferences, from places like New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas and almost every city in Australia.


We love them but probably not for the reason you think. Many agents get a lot from the speakers, but our experience tells us that the greatest value in a real estate event is the people you meet in the lobbies, the bars and the dinners after the event.

This is where there is a free exchange of ideas, good will and information passed between property professional who then take some of those ideas back to their business to improve what they do.

John affectionately calls it Lobbycon, the conference that happens after dark where people are relaxed, having fun and keen to find out how others conduct their business and exchange notes.

This is the gold, the real value and while experts’ speakers are important, we never really understood the strict separation between the knowledge imparted by these experts and the fun that was had with the attendees.

So, we asked ourselves a question, would it be possible to combine the two elements and create a real estate event that provided solid actionable content as well as the networking opportunities all at the same time.

We’d asked this of ourselves for a couple of years and we had often talked about doing it but with the growth of Market Buy, we just didn’t find the time…. Until now.

Outbreak 2021 is a real estate event that cuts out the fluff and gets down to brass tacks. We’ve worked hard to replicate where the most amazing value lies – in the lobby and bar.

On April 9, we’ll kick it off on a rooftop bar at Rydges Coolangatta, enjoying views of the ocean while we mingle with some of the most successful yet underrated people in the industry.

Peter Brewer, Chairman of the REIQ will MC for the day and we’ll hear the true accounts of battles to the top from the people who’ve overcome the challenges of this industry and themselves.

In between each speaker, we’ll be catching up (in person finally!), chewing the fat and trading war stories amongst each other and with the speakers themselves.

Tickets are $250 ex GST and we can only host 150 on the roof top bar, as at time of writing this, there’s maybe 70 tickets left.
