Coronis’ recently launched BDM cadetship program is already changing lives, with their first graduate on track to earn more than $120,000 after starting in the industry just nine months ago.

Growth Leader Fiona Nichols said the cadet program was designed to lift the calibre of BDMs in the industry by providing them with an in-depth education of the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed including prospecting, data management and marketing.

“In my opinion, BDMs today aren’t well trained in many agencies,” Ms Nichols said. “They’re often brought on, in some cases given a database to start calling through and left up to their own devices to sink or swim… and more often than not, you see them sink.

“I personally think that is an absolute shame, so we methodically broke down the requirements of what a BDM does and together with Jodi Ford and Jodie Stainton, two veterans of the property management industry, we created a comprehensive curriculum and a fun team environment to learn in.

“Over a six-month period, our cadets receive two weeks of classroom training, a senior BDM as their mentor, weekly lessons on how to prospect and master scripts and most importantly strategize client journeys and their marketing so they learn how to build a pipeline of business so they can earn a stable income.

“Our first graduate, Georgie Merry, has taken everything we’ve taught her and in her first six months, listed 70 managements and is now on track to earn $120,000 in her first year which is huge, especially when you consider that in September last year she was working as a telemarketer and had never even considered working in the real estate industry.”

Miss Merry said that she couldn’t believe how much her life had changed since joining the Coronis team in September 2020 and that she was achieving goals that she didn’t think were possible for another 10 years.

“I feel incredibly grateful that I was given the opportunity to join the program,” she said. “Not only did the course give me an in-depth education, but the entire BDM team works together in one office so you can ask questions and learn from the senior BDMS which was really beneficial.

“Fiona has built a supportive team culture, so we’re all in this together and want to see each other hit our goals, which is something I didn’t have at my previous job.”

Ms Nichols added Coronis’ mission is ‘to change people’s lives for the better’.

“I’ve seen this cadetship program do exactly that for Georgie. She’s not even 20 and has almost paid off a new car and is now preparing to buy a block of land and build a house which is amazing.

“Nothing makes me happier than seeing my team kick their goals, so as their leader I will do whatever I need to in order to help them such as working on their scripts, reviewing their prospecting channels, planning out their marketing strategy or when needed, motivate them.

“As a business, we will achieve our goals if our team achieves their goals, so if I see someone on my team having a bad day, it’s my responsibility as their leader to hold them accountable to the goals they have written down, get in the trenches with them and remind them what they’re working towards.

“We’re now looking for our next round of cadets to join our team, so if you’re a struggling BDM or agent, are motivated and want to create a better life for yourself, I know our program can help you do that. You bring the passion, and we’ll equip you with all the skills you need to succeed.”
