Rockend upgrades owner, tenant online portal

An online portal which gives landlords and tenants direct access to information about their rental property has been refreshed with a new look and enhanced functionality, its owner Rockend has said.

Rockend has released an “enhanced” ‘Owner and Tenant Portals Version 2’ in its REST Professional Version.

“Today, clients want access to information … when they need it,” said Alister Maple-Brown, CEO at Rockend, which recently surpassed 4,000 active customers.

“By offering a 24/7 service to clients, REST Professional users are able to give secure access to property owners and tenants.  This saves time for both themselves and their clients.  In addition, it differentiates the property manager in a highly competitive market.”

The service allows agents using REST Professional to fully brand their webpage to look like their own website, and to link the portals off their website via a log in button for owners and tenants, Rockend said.

Rockend said it has 600 agents using the Owner and Tenant portals.

Scott Shepherd, head of product at Rockend, said the portals enabled agents to bolster their service offering.

“Requiring no additional ongoing work for the property manager, these portals provide a fully agent branded service to both owners and tenants and improve the level of customer service that already busy agents can offer,” he said.

“The portals will also increase traffic to your company website and help build your relationships with your clients.”

Joely Sullivan, partner at One Real Estate in Darwin, said giving tenants and landlords direct access to information helps save her time.

“I had an email from an owner asking me to send her some statements from back in November and by this morning there was another email from her asking me to disregard her previous email as she had located the statements on the online portal,” the property management veteran said.

“Obviously it’s an education process. Once they become aware that it’s available to them and they become familiar with it, it’s like internet banking, they’ll all jump online and find the information themselves.”
