PM boot camp tackles high staff turnover

A property management training consultancy says low job satisfaction is one of the biggest reasons for high staff turnover, and the problem can easily be fixed with a PM boot camp.

Real Estate Dynamics director Peter Aquilina says the high staff turnover in property management can be attributed to the fact that unskilled PMs doing their jobs with minimal training and support.

“[They are] often left to their own devices to manage the demanding expectations of landlords and tenants,” Mr Aquilina said.

“Couple this with a lack of ongoing mentoring and professional development, it’s no wonder staff leave for perceived greener pastures at a new office.”

To address this lack of training, Real Estate Dynamics has organised a PM boot camp, a two-day program that will teach property managers the skills required to improve their job performance and subsequently their level of job satisfaction.

It will cover common challenges property managers face such as stress, dealing with difficult tenants and finalising bonds without issues.

The boot camp, which began in 2013, is a highly-regarded program for property managers of all skill levels. Ninety-six per cent of past attendees would recommend it to other PMs, according to data provided by Real Estate Dynamics. 

The boot camp will be led by Real Estate Dynamics director Nathan Brett and Jenny Sewell, a licensed real estate agent. They will be run in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.
