RentBetter announced it has partnered with Rapid Building Inspections to offer a “first-of-its-kind” digital solution for landlords who are looking to make significant savings on traditional property management costs.

The self-management rental platform unveiled its launch of a digital solution that will help DIY landlords book their own third-party professionals in order to conduct property inspections and manage other critical services.

The new digital integration will streamline the processing of exit and entry condition reports, which have been traditionally completed via in-person checks or by tenants lodging reports online, RentBetter stated.

RentBetter founder and chief executive Jeremy Goldschmidt touted that the new feature will allow rental property owners to remain in the “driver’s seat” of their investment portfolio.

“It’s essentially a game-changer for those who own and manage their own rental property, with a new layer of security provided in knowing condition reports can be organised anywhere, at any time through the click of a button,” Mr Goldschmidt said.

The new digital solution also comes at a critical time when landlords are facing rising financial pressures from rising interest rates and high inflation that is squeezing consumer pockets, according to RentBetter.

It further revealed that among the 2 million landlords operating in the country, around a third are actively looking for ways to lower their operational costs.

“With property owners paying an average of $2,000 property management fees each year, the new integration will give self-managing landlords streamlined access to professional inspectors and services at a fraction of the cost,” RentBetter explained.

Director at Rapid Building Inspections Daniel Watts said the collaboration with RentBetter was of a complementary nature.

“As a leading provider of building and pest inspection services across Australia, this partnership is a natural extension of our business,” he stated.

“The synergies between RentBetter platform and Rapid Building Inspections allows us to deliver a compelling proposition for property owners, to help them reduce costs and gain greater control over their rental properties,” Mr Watts added.

For RentBetter, the new partnership is a stepping stone to forging more collaborations and solution integrations with the broader service offerings by Rapid Building Inspections, which operates under the Deep Blue Company.

The launch of the new digital solution also comes after RentBetter’s $1.9 million funding round earlier this year as it looks to bolster its platform’s growth into new market segments and establish strategic distribution partnerships.
