Australia’s property managers will now have access to a fresh new stream of insights at the coalface through a focused new series of rent roll management seminars, with the first event kicking off in Brisbane in August.
Property Management Mastery has been created to fill the gap when it comes to dedicated property management events and content.
The Property Management Mastery concept is the brainchild of Samantha Thorne, an ex-PM now working at Managed – a property management system and payments platform.
The aim of this new educational series is to bring property managers and principals together to explore the most effective strategies for building a successful rent roll.
Property management is increasingly viewed as a critical source of profit and value for agencies, however the challenges to create the right balance between efficiency and revenue have never been greater.
The August event will focus on how to build outstanding value in a property management business through acquisition as well as organic growth.
Hosted by REB’s Phillip Tarrant, the panel sessions include insights from the fastest growing agencies.
In conversation with Tarrant, panellists will offer their insights on how they have built their rent rolls, and detail in-depth how and when to grow through acquisition.
According to Thorne, recruitment and retention are a major headache for agencies when it comes to building a rent roll, but some agencies have cracked the code and are growing quickly.
“This is just one theme to be explored at the event,” she said.
“It’s always been a challenge finding property managers with the attention to detail to manage a trust account and all the reconciliation that go with it.
“It requires patience, diligence and the ability to work under pressure. These people don’t grow on trees.
“We’ll hear from agencies that are rapidly growing their rent roll without the constraints of hiring veteran property managers. They have property managers that can manage 150 properties or more, and they are going to reveal exactly how they do it,” she said.
Key themes and sessions at the afternoon event will include:

- Integration tactics that work when buying a rent roll.
- Financial strategies and winning tactics to operate a smart and profitable property management business.
- How to build a winning team while running a business at maximum efficiency.
- Driving growth organically as well through purchasing rent rolls.
- How two of Australia’s leading property managers have implemented Managed.
Property Management Mastery will be hosted at a venue in Woolloongabba in Brisbane on Friday, 9 August 2024, from 2pm to 5pm.
