Now in its fifth year, the Top 100 Agents continues to set the benchmark for real estate agents across the country.
This much-anticipated list quantifies what it really means to be a top-performing agent in Australia today.
The last 12 months have seen huge changes in the Australian housing market. From tighter regulation on housing finance to warnings of a property crash, real estate has had to contend with its fair share of negative press. However, the fact remains that property is still the nation’s favourite asset class. The figures in this year’s Top 100 Agents ranking prove that business is good for those selling Australian real estate.
While the leading real estate agents in the country continued to dominate the top of the table, this year’s ranking saw a whopping 36 new names make the final cut.
For those of you eager to find out what it takes to be a Top 100 Agent, we’ve compiled a few key statistics from this year’s ranking.
The average years of experience for a Top 100 agent is 15, compared to 18.3 years for a Top 10 agent. Those ranked higher on the table tend to be a little older too, with an average age of 43.9 years for a top 10 agent, compared to 40.9 years for a top 100 agent.
But it seems what really separates the leaders from the pack is prospecting. The average top 100 agent had 102.6 listings over the year, while the average top 10 agent had a huge 141 listings. The average top 10 agent had 126.4 sales over the year, while the average top 100 agent had 90 sales.
The average top 10 agent’s total sales value was almost double that of the average top 100 agent: $273.2 million compared to $139.7 million. Interestingly, the average top 10 agent had a lower conversion ratio (93.22 per cent) compared to the average top 100 agent (95.6 per cent).
Digital presence has continued to be a significant factor for real estate professionals, with 73 per cent of the Top 100 agents this year noting that realestate.com.au was the website that generated the most sales, followed by Domain with 21 per cent.
The numbers are here for every agent to dissect and discuss, but this list is about more than just a set of figures and a final ranking.
Real Estate Business has delved into the wealth of information extracted from the country’s top agents to provide graphic analysis, profiles, videos and audio interviews from a number of agents on the list, so readers can gain insight into how they operate and what makes them successful.
These profiles will form the basis of Top 100 Agents Week, which will involve a daily newsletter being sent out from 6 April.
