An Australian proptech company has helped local property managers navigate the stressors felt during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Inspection Manager is described as a home inspection and property management software. The group launched their Tenant Assisted Inspections when COVID-19 hit this year “to support property managers around the world in managing inspections without physically entering properties”.
“The Tenant Assisted Inspections feature allows property managers to adapt to current challenges of COVID-19 by enlisting the help of tenants to complete routine inspections while adhering to safety guidelines and preventing unnecessary exposure to COVID-19,” a statement from the group confirmed.
“Tenants use their mobile device to take photos in each section of the property, then simply tap to comment and save to document the condition of the property.”
Commenting further, Inspection Manager co-founder Alan Hashem said: “We were not planning on developing the Tenant Assisted Inspections until COVID-19 hit.
“Now that we are starting to think about what work looks like post-COVID-19, we have realised that this feature is an excellent way to increase efficiencies for our real estate clients, so we are on a mission to arm property managers everywhere with this new way to work.”
Tegan Kingham, property manager at McGrath St George, is an avid user of the platform.
“Initially, we started using the Tenant Assisted Inspections feature to manage our property inspections to keep our team and tenants safe during COVID-19, but we will now continue to use the feature as it saves on average around two hours out of our property managers’ day when you have a rent roll of over 1,200 properties — that is a significant amount of time and money,” she said.
