A platform offering real estate debt investment opportunities, the firm has named Giamol Pasin to the central role.

Mr Pasin occupied the same position at Westpac for a number of years and comes with over 30 years of experience as a valuer of all classes of property-related assets.

At Westpac, he was responsible for assessing the viability of large commercial and development asset deals for bank lending purposes.

Mr Pasin moved on from the big four bank to found CivicMJD Valuations in 2007, which expanded into a valuation practice with more than 25 commercial valuers across offices in Sydney and Melbourne.

The company serviced a large proportion of Australia’s lending institutions, providing property valuations for assets ranging from commercial and development to going concern and prestige residential.

Mr Pasin’s work brought him into contact with the AltX team, which served as a great introduction to the company, prior to being approached for the role.

Having been recruited by the firm’s co-chief executives Steven Beinart and Nick Raphaely, Mr Pasin said he was “extremely impressed with how they have grown AltX, underpinned by a relentless focus on protecting capital for their investors”.

“I have worked closely with Steven and Nick for many years. I’m excited to be able to lend my expertise to support the further growth of the AltX Group,” he added.

Mr Beinart described Mr Pasin’s decision to join the company as a testament to their future prospects.

“We have worked with Giamol for several years, and he shares the Group’s conservative ethos on property appraisals. We are confident he will very quickly prove a valuable addition to our team,” Mr Beinart said.

Mr Raphaely agreed: “The AltX business has grown substantially in recent years, and having Giamol on board will be of immense benefit to our investors. There will be few lenders in the market who can lay claim to someone with his breadth of experience in-house across a range of property asset classes over several decades of property cycles.”
