Instant payments pioneer Managed is growing its development, customer experience and marketing teams.

An influx of demand for pioneering property management platform Managed has seen the business increase its headcount across a number of key teams.

In 2019, Managed pioneered the first comprehensive property management platform, built around secure and instant automated payments rather than a manually operated trust account.

According to Rohith George, chief operating officer at Managed, new agencies see this as a major advantage as they can focus on rent roll growth because there is less of a time burden around manual tasks.

This helps new agencies gain traction quickly, but George is now seeing rising demand from established agencies looking to run a more efficient and profitable operation.

“Managed has all of the workflows, integrations and features that trust accounting platforms offer – without the trust account,” he said.

“This means our agencies can pay landlords quickly, with no manual accounting and they get their agency fee the moment that the tenant pays. Everyone’s a winner.”

Today, it is one of the fastest growing platforms for agencies to manage a rent roll.

The platform processes in excess of $1 billion each year, he said.

According to George, transaction volume is increasing rapidly as agencies see automated and direct payments as the new industry standard.

“As a result, they are rapidly turning to Managed,” he said.

“We’ve built the team and our capabilities to stay ahead of demand,” George said. “I want to make sure we have the capacity to help agencies migrate to our platform on their time frame, and that has meant hiring new talent over the last six months.”

George said he has doubled the size of its development team, while expanding its customer experience and marketing teams. He has also recruited a senior engineering specialist to help drive growth in the platform.

“We offer a very different proposition to our agencies in comparison with any other platform. We can actively help them grow their rent roll, rather than just help manage a trust account,” he said.

“This is an exciting opportunity for Managed and we have some very compelling propositions in the pipeline for our agencies that will help them to grow.”

George would not be drawn on the specifics of the feature, however, he indicated that it would help landlords find agencies that offered instant rental payments via Managed.

“We get inquiries from landlords all the time. We always point them in the direction of a Managed agency near them. I think this is a real opportunity and I’ve explored automating this,” he said.
