FOUNDIT has officially expanded to Sydney and welcomed an experienced buyer’s agent to its ranks, in a bid to offer local insights for buyers in the Harbour City.
Proptech platform FOUNDIT has announced the appointment of Sabeen Akbani as its first Sydney-based partner and buyer’s agent, aiming to expand the brand’s national presence.
Led by former Domain executive Angus Ferguson and ex-fund manager Joel Tomaino, the FOUNDIT platform aims to streamline property deals by leveraging live market updates, custom-built technology, and the insights of its expanding network of agents across Australia.
FOUNDIT will now draw on Akbani’s nearly two decades’ worth of experience across residential sales, property finance and buyers agencies, to enhance the platform’s ability to offer streamlined services to Sydney buyers.
The proptech platform said Akbani’s deep understanding of the Sydney market would equip her for success as the platform’s foundational Sydney partner.
Ferguson said that Akbani’s reputation in the eastern suburbs and inner west of Sydney would enhance FOUNDIT’s presence in the city’s highly competitive market.
“Sabeen is one of the most well-known professionals in the real estate game, not just in Sydney but nationally,” Ferguson said.
“With over 17 years of experience focused on the buyer, combined with her strength in technology, it was a no-brainer partnership for FOUNDIT,” he added.
Akbani said that FOUNDIT’s model would help streamline the work of buyer’s agents by providing buyers with the tools, data, and advice they need throughout their property journey.
“As a buyer’s agent, it means I can focus on what I do best – uncovering hidden opportunities, providing strategic guidance, negotiation and helping my clients find the right home, not just any home,” Akbani said.
FOUNDIT is currently expanding its partner network of buyer’s agents ahead of its broader consumer launch later this year, with the platform recently welcoming Melbourne-based Lynda McNeill as its first buyers agent.
“Our goal is to build a new standard of support for buyers by bringing together the best agents in the country and giving them the tools to scale,” Ferguson said.
“This is about creating a better experience for buyers and a more sustainable model for agents,” he concluded.
