Real estate agents and non-native English speakers can now cross the language barrier when buying properties through a new AI-powered platform.
View Media Group’s Propic has unveiled two new major features for its real estate tool, Claire, that allow property seekers and agents to communicate clearly despite speaking different languages.
The platform has now been updated with a conversational voice interface that allows users to have a real-time, natural conversation about the property by tapping a speaker icon on any listing.
Consumers can receive detailed information about a house and the surrounding areas directly from a listing in any of the supported languages.
Further, Claire’s multilingual intelligence means the platform can now speak and understand 58 languages, including Mandarin, Arabic, Spanish, and Indonesian.
The platform is then able to instantly translate back to English to ensure agents stay informed across language barriers.
Numerous major brands have already backed the tool, including McGrath, Nelson Alexander, Place, and Highland.
CEO Jeffrey Gray emphasised the importance of a multilingual tool to break down language barriers in Australia.
“We predicted 2025 would be the year voice went mainstream,” Gray said.
“With consumers used to interacting with assistants like Alexa and Siri, it was time they could simply talk to a property 24/7.
“And in a multicultural market like Australia, expecting everyone to communicate in English just isn’t good enough anymore. We’ve built Claire to speak every buyer’s language – literally.”
In 2021, about 5.6 million, or 22 per cent of Australians, reported using a language other than English at home, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).
ABS data also showed that in 2024, about 8.6 million people in the country were born overseas, representing 31.9 per cent of the total Australian population.
To ensure safe, brand-aligned interactions on the platform, stringent protocols and algorithmic safeguards oversee conversations on Claire, with the updates being the first in a series of product improvements to enhance its voice feature.
The AI tool can also access documents and data in real time through CRM platforms to enable a detailed experience for buyers and agents.
Founded by Gray in 2019, Propic has been committed to using AI-driven technology to innovate the real estate industry.
Gray said the Claire platform has driven more than $13 billion in property sales in the past year, and it handles enquiry management, buyer engagement, content creation, and lead qualification.
